I need help with Kalk dosing calculating.
My tank evaporates approx 1/2 gallons a day of ATO, so to make it easy I was thinking of dosing on a 24hrs schedule
it's approx 1893ml's in a 1/2 gallon of water?
I divided 1893mls by 24hrs = 78.9mls per hour
does this look right to anyone who dose Kalk?

Looks right to me. I started doing exactly this very recently to help with ph issues except I only need to dose about 300ml a day lol. I did start at half saturation at first though to go slow and safe. Bumped my way up to 75% saturation so far.

I accidentally set it to dose 240ml (10ml per hour) a day instead of the 270-300 that I need but I think that actually works out better this way. I dont want to slowly raise the water level too high and the ato still kicks on if it needs to.

How big is tank? That much kalk will potentially mess with tank pH
My tank is a 120-gallon mix reef, my goal is to raise the PH to 8.1>. It's dropping to 7.8ish and the hi is 8.1. and that's with a CO2 scrubbing to the skimmer. No access to outside air.

I just divided 60 minutes by 79mls = 0.75949367088
So, I'm guessing I'll be dosing 0.76mls per minute in 24hrs

I wouldn’t go by evaporation. Depending on your climate evaporation changes throughout the year. Your humidity changes all the time and you might evaporate more on any given day depending on the weather.

If you have to dose more saturated kalk water than you evaporate you might have to look into dosing alk or look into kalk slurry. Kalk slurry dosing is an advanced method so I don’t really recommend it but honestly unless you are growing tons of sps and coralline I don’t see the need. It can nuke your tank if you don’t know what you are doing.

Telegraham uses this method and it works great for him. https://www.youtube.com/live/U0K57z4rYaA?feature=share.
