When calibrating my refractometer with BRS 35 solution i set it then today I tested it with RO water after calibrating it again I noticed that it was a bit above zero. I then calibrated it to zero and retested with the 35 solution which then said it was around 32-33. Which should I calibrate to?

The 35ppt solution. Something I can't remember right now about why the RO/DI isn't accurate.....

"Correction of slope miscalibration errors should be carried out using a fluid that approximately matches the refractive index of the water being tested, so for reef aquarium water, calibration with 35 ppt seawater solves this problem, while calibration with pure freshwater does not."

On the bottle of my calibration solution it states that using RO or distilled water to calibrate a refractometer for salt water use is not correct and they should be calibrated to 35 with a calibration solution. I calibrate mine before each use.
