Hi do you guys use RODI or solution to calibrate your refractometer? I get big difference between RODI and accurasea

Unless your refractometer is made to use RO/DI to calibrate you should always use a known calibration fluid...35ppt. You want accuracy in the range you are testing for. If you're going to use it to test your RO/DI water calibrate with that. :p

I use fluid

RODI is better than nothing if you drop it other otherwise doubt the accuracy. However, solution is usually better. Some are made to calibrate with RO, so read your manual.

Once you get it calibrated correctly, put some RODI on there and see where it reads. Mine reads like 1.01, or just slightly high, so I can use this in a pinch if I ever needed to.

If I calibrate with Rodi my tank water reads 1.025 if I calibrate with 35ppm solution it reads 1.021
