First let me start by apologizing as I'm sure there is a thread elsewhere but everything I have seen is a bit confusing between the old hydras and the new HD.
I just got two 26 HDs today and I'm not a very app friendly guy. I'm trying to figure out how to set these lights up, I know what ramp time is and seems most are somewhere between 3 and 4 hours. All I have currently are 4 fish and two BTA'S and a couple frags that will be here in the morning.
What is a good starting point as far as settings go, what is a good setting to make the corals glow and easier on the eyes?
I've tried to watch videos on YouTube but all the videos are with the older models and the apps are different rather it be an APEX or a director, nothing showing actually how all this works. I see people say 20% intensity or more but where do I set the intensity in the app?
Thanks for your time and I realize everyone and tanks require different light needs but I'm just looking at something safe to start with. My tank is 25" deep and lights sit roughly 6 inches off the surface.

Check out post #6 in the thread I just posted in....I think that'll help.

Also, get a [HASHTAG]#lux[/HASHTAG] [HASHTAG]#meter[/HASHTAG] to help you set up the lights. Check out any of the recent threads under either of those tags. In general, 40,000-50,000 lux (peak) at the surface means your levels should be good.

At 6" you're getting about a 10" diameter patch of light on the water surface - is that enough?

Remember:
  • Mounting height is how you set spread and maximum intensity.
  • Once height is set, then use your dimmers and light meter to set intensity.
