Calling all cold weather reefers! Question!

I currently have my 155g 60"x30"x20" tall sitting in my uninsulated garage. Currently fluctuating between 20-40 degrees outside.

Am I going to have issues picking it up and getting it indoors in one piece due to the cold glass?

Plan B is to run a heater forms few hours ahead of moving it with tarps over it to help bring temp up. Thoughts?

I don't see you having an issue just grabbing it and bringing it in while cold. Might be a little slippery with the potential of having condensation on it. Good wipe and grab and go your plan b would work as well just don't point the heater directly at the tank and turn it on low.

It will fog up and get condensation on it as soon as you enter the house with it. Which could make it slippery, although if you've got good hand placement and don't move them much you should be ok.

I just moved a 150g into my house yesterday in the same situation. Four of us got it in and down a half flight of stairs without incident, but it did fog instantly.

Were I to do it over, I'd purchase or rent some industrial suction cups for something better to hold on to.

Hah yeah, it has been a slow start to winter but we don't hit the negative numbers until late January and February. Chicago Il suburbs for reference!

TBH winter has been VERY late here as Well, sitting in the low 40s to high 50s the past few weeks. Which is beyond warm for this time of year here (Calgary).

I seriously hope not lol. Drivers here are barely competent on a summers day let alone when there's any snow involved

Think about your windshield on your car. The defogger blasts heat on the windshield while -10 degree temperatures blast the outside. The only way the glass will crack would be, if you took a torch to the glass, heated it up until it was red, then took it out in the cold. Or option B, if you filled it with water and let it freeze in the garage, lol.
