Calling All Michigan Reefers

Im pretty new to the reef scene and I am looking to see how many other reefers there are in good ole Michigan. Give this a like or comment! Are there any clubs, meetups, frag swaps ect in Michigan?

I'm in Commerce Twp. There is a local forum, Michigan Reefers. Also a few swaps a year, Lansing is the big one in Feb, then AnnArbor a couple months later. A couple smaller ones over the summer months, Flint, Plymouth, Sturgis.

There are a couple of Michigan reefing sites that are up and running, though they dont see near the traffic that this site does. Im in West Michigan and here's what I'm on:

http://www.michiganreefers.com/ - this one has an active selling/trading/buying forum
http://www.captivereefs.com/forum/ - similar to Reef2reef with much less traffic. The owner of the site is a local club guy and organizes most of the frag swaps in Michigan

Depending on where you are at, you can search facebook for your local groups. Here are a few of the ones I belong too:

Grand Rapids Saltwater Sell and Trade

Michigan Reefers Code Community

As far as clubs go, the GRMAS (Grand Rapids Marine Aquarium Society) is relatively inactive - they tend to only do one or two events a year. Captivereefs tend to have a bit more activity from a reefing club perspective, but thats just my observation.
