Two 35g drums for the 7 Stage RODI system. Iwaki pump giving more than enough flow between the two tubs. Added DIY classic sight levels with clear PVC and an 8” screw cap to drop in salt mix. Everything is set up on smart switches and hopefully in the future to have this piped directly to my tank.

Here’s mine. The stand is a custom pallet rack that I had a local supplier make and tossed a coat of paint on it to match the plumbing. The tanks are 100 gal Ronco tanks that I was lucky enough to be able
To pick up from the manufacturer and avoid those crazy shipping costs.

It’s run by a Reeflo Hammerhead pump and the RO side has a Tunze RO water controller so it doesn’t keep topping off the tank whenever I pull water for my smaller tanks ATO reservoir. Had to extend the cords for the float switches but it worked out pretty well.

The power strip is a WiFi controlled strip so I can turn on the pump to mix salt and have it automatically turn off after a set time. The pics are from my leak testing hence the buckets under everything. It’s scary filling up 200 gallons in something you built yourself. All in all, it’s working out very well.

Here‘s mine with ATO and AWC

I have my water change station in the basement. Automaticity keeps RODI full, automaticity tops off tank with the RODi, and I hit a switch and change 10% of the saltwater weekly. Pumps take old saltwater out and push saltwater up one floor to my living room.

Starts with 3 float switches in my sump that go downstairs to my basement controllers. First float switch (low) tells RODI or Saltwater to replenish depending on settings. 2nd float switch off. 3rd float switch is emergency off.

Have 2 controllers downstairs connected to float switches upstairs. When low float switch hits bottom, RODI starts pumping from first controller. Second controller manages RODI auto fill.

2 pumps downstairs manage pumping water to/from upstairs. Leave RODI connected to fill pump for auto top off. When changing water, switch to saltwater containers and turn on switch for drain pump. When 1st float value gets low, pumps up saltwater through auto top off. Pumps take out and replace saltwater at same pace. When done with saltwater change, turn off drain pump and wait till auto top off fills with rest of saltwater. Then switch auto top off back to RODI. Takes 10 minutes to change 10 gallons in my 90 gallon aquarium every week.

did you build them? buy them? buy and modify? etc.
I would like to do something similar and looking where to start.

I'm actually quite please with mine. The *only* possible space left in the entire house was the bottom of the coat closet. I ran 40 feet of water line and drain line down the length of the house in the crawl space and up into the closet. The three 20 gallon talls (petco sale) fit in so tight I had to remove the quarter round

The left tank is saltwater where the DOS pulls from, the middle tank is the mixer and the right tank is top off. There’s pumps in two of the tanks to move water “left” as necessary and I can have 40 gallons of salt water or 40 gallons of fresh or 20/20 with one mixing. It lets me do uninterrupted awc as long as I remember to add salt a couple of times a month, and it can go almost 3 weeks if I have to go on vacation.

No more buckets, and my water changes have been perfectly consistent for many months, which lets face it they probably weren’t before.

my approach was a mobile mixing station. My wife didn't want something that was built in place so we could re-arrange the garage if needed.

And I needed to be able to cart it between two tanks. Instead of having a really long hose, I opted for this mobile method.

So a day before I need to do water changes, I bring the cart inside, make water and add my salt. Use what I need, then put it back in the garage.
