So, I have my used setup up and running. Plugged in the lights, all good. Built a canopy, hung everything, lit up my fish (no coral yet). They're happy.

The dang AI Sol Controller is broken. I think it's functioning, but the lcd screen on it is toast.
I can't find a used one, even deep on Ebay.

I realize this is a complicated topic. I'm not even sure where to start. The lights work great. Thought I might fiddle with the spectrum and LEDs someday, but this is beyond me.

If anyone could just point me in the right direction. Are there generic controllers? Is there a simplish way to just remove the controller and add on dimmer switches and hardware store timers? Doesn't have to be fancy or pretty.

Its always possible, depending on what the internals are like and how much experience you have. By far the simplest is to gut all of the driver and control electronics and replace it, keeping the LEDs. However, if the LEDs have had a good run, maybe its not worth using at all.

I don't know anything about the AI Sol lights, but it might be worth checking to see if they can be controlled with a simple 0-10v signal. If the display is the only problem and it accepts an analog signal, that could save a bit of work.

Anybody try and see if a Kessil controller would work? Looks like all the Apex accessories are the same for Kessil and Ai Sol Blue.
