Calling all Wisco Reefers

Yea. My space on top of the sump is limited and I've got about zero room to add a pump in the sump for a ATS. If my fuge doesn't take off I might switch gears.

A few other tips.

There are 2 kinds of Chaeto "readily" available. Thicker and thinner. The thinner is like hair and grows much faster.

Lots of light helps. 40W min... better 90W. I like the Kessil lights (ex. H160)

I think a "critical" mass is needed to help establish everything. Starting with like 2-4 qt is good. Just check your NO3 and PO4 and make sure it doesn't bottom out.

My 75 gallon is firmly in the ugly phase right now. Just placed my last fish order then the tank should be fully stocked. Orderd some Green Chromis, a 2 bar rabbit, and a 6 line wrasse.
Throw up a picture.

Lots of hair algae right now. The snails are fighting back, but I need to get some more. All my fish except the clowns are hiding. :(

Looking good. Nice pair of clowns.

Are you running a fuge ?

I have a small fuge as part of my sump. Probably undersized for the size of my tank, but I have chaeto and about to introduce pods to it. If the chaeto doesn't end up reducing nitrates enough I may switch to a GFO reactor, but I've heard those have to be really dialed in or they strip too much out and the corals have a bad time.

What kind of pods? The green on the rock looks like the beginning stages of coralline.....maybe ha

Got the new fish in the main tank today. Lost two chromis in QT that were sickly on arrival. The tomini and rabbit appear to have made fast friends, which is NOT what I was expecting. The Basslet was very aggressive to the new six line wrasse, but they appear to have settled down. The chromis aren't showing any aggression to each other yet.

That photo makes the tangs eyeball look huge.....huge
It's actually a two-barred rabbitfish, and it's eyes actually are that huge. At first I thought it had cataracts, but it looks like the pigments of the stripe actually go through the eyeball from what I can tell.

That explains a lot haha. Cool fish.

I've got some green and orange. Mine grew like crazy in med/high light, low/med flow. I hear they will do well in pretty much all conditions lol. Recently moved mine to about med light, growth slowed but still going

Just as an FYI to Madison area folks. Pet World Warehouse on Todd Dr. must have some new employees in aquatics. Their salt water tanks are much better looking than they were in December. cleaner, more of them, etc. was there last night looking for something unrelated, they have about 5 different types of clowns, and a bunch of other fish that must have just come in because they were acclimating the bags for temperature.

Got some green and blue polyps from LiveAquaria. They seem to be pretty happy so far. Any tips you guys have for keeping them happy?
