I am looking to learn about Masterflex pumps or other commercial peristaltic pumps. My goal is to set up an automatic water change that will change out 1 -2 gallons a day. I know I can easily complete this with a DOS but I would prefer to buy a used masterflex as I believe it will outlast a DOS for about the same money. Could I buy a motor unit like I see on ebay often. 7543-20 boxes like that. Then purchase two of the same heads and bolt them on the motor. One in and one out and then control it with my APEX to turn on once a day for x amount of time. I have PM2 and check salinity every other day already so I can correct any salinity drift quickly.
The pump will be in the basement so noise is not an issue.
Is this a proper set up? Are there cheaper options that will last?
