Calling Microbiologists

My brother has a bachelor's degree in microbiology. He works in QA for a pharmaceutical company that make generic meds. I thought I could Impress him with my vast knowledge of chemistry in reef aquariums. He says this type of chemistry is not really related to the type of work he does. So I can't really pick his brain when it comes to talking about the nitrate cycle for example.

How can I pick a microbiologists brain when it comes to learning about my 110 gallon reef?

lol "a bachelor's degree in microbiology". This is like my bachelor's degree in history, ask me anything and I can almost guarantee I don't know the answer.

There are various disciplines even in Microbiology. There is aquatic micro- freshwater, saltwater, estuaries. There is wastewater microbiology. There is food microbiology. There is soil microbiology. Then there is human and animal microbiology. And also, there is air microbiology. You will have to ask him which one that you would like to speak about.
