Calling on DIY Chaeto reactor users

I'm in the process of the getting the material to make my own.
my questions is though, do you guys run your reactor lighting 24/7 or only during DT lights out?

I don't use a chaeto reactor, but you shouldn't run lights on any plant 24/7. They need time to "rest" also. Running the lights 24/7 can cause rapid growth for awhile but it will eventually stunt.

that was my thought process, I saw a video where he was running it non stop, thought it was odd, but wasn't sure if there was a method to the madness

I've seen where people do it with a dim light on a fuge, but that seems to defeat the purpose of a reactor. The dimmer light combined with the tumbling action prevents the Chaeto from being exposed to bright light 100% of the time.

Thats close to what I was planning. my like cycle is about 9 hours, was thinking about having it come on a little before lights off and run until a little after lights on

My thinking exactly.

I went as long as 20 on, 4 off when i first fired it up and nutrients were higher but they came down fairly quickly so test every couple/three days til you get a handle on it.
