My dryside fell straight into a bucket of SW. I believe it fried the controller circuit board bc nothing is powering on.

Vortech MP40 any link on how to disassemble DRYSIDE magnet? I cant get the center screw the budge. It actually broke off the Phillip's screwdriver tip on one of my favorite Phillip's :(

Heres the plan:
* I've already ordered a full replacement. Ugh gut punch @ $367

* but I could resurrect the wet dryside by buying a replacement controller for $80. Problem is....is how do I disassemblethe dryside by taking it apart and rinsing with RODI then drying out for a week? Again the dryside is built like a tank. I have no idea how to gently disassemble the dryside.

Plz help.

See if this helps.

I got the link from this post.

Found a video... now I know why they charge $367 for this product.

... the DRYSIDE is more complex than my lawnmower or my Dads 1978 VW Bug. Lol!

Multi Screws. Springs. Bearings. Wires. OMG its brain surgery taking this apart..... (watch vid below)

Putting this thing back together would be an Engineering marvel....bc if one lil spring isn't right the whole thing prob heats up and melts and fuses together

I'm OUT! Waaaaaay too complex
I'm going to keep the dryside for PARTS only.

Is it a regular MP40 or a QD. The reason I ask is because the drysides are different. If it's the older, regular, dryside, HERE's my experience with an MP10....very similar to a 40......with video links about MP40's. Hope this helps.

Just curious, why did you order an entire new MP40 instead of just replacing the dry side?
Controller wont power on..it must have "shorted" in the dryside frying the circuitboard

I'd try one more thing with the controller.....hard reset with the new dryside. Here's how to do it:
