I had a little piece of what I believe is Callophyllis laciniata growing on a blueberry gorgonian skeleton. It has been steadily growing and I have noticed it starting to grow in another couple spots on my rock. Are there any concerns with letting this just grow?

It is a very cool macro! Used to have some in an old tank. The only problem (as with most macros) is that if left unchecked, it can become a nuisance. Keep it confined and it is actually a unique addition for a tank

Looks like Dictyota to me, which can become invasive.

Interesting. Would a tang most likely eat it?

Not sure, I believe my Fox Face used to eat it though.

I don't know if there are other types, but dictoya I know of is brown.
Box fish I belive eat it and a couple others.

Dictoya btw is a psychotropic , and fish eat it to gain toxicity and and make themselves Taste bad to predators. Some islanders eat these fish to catch a buzz.

I am not comfortable adding a fox face or boxfish so I will keep an eye on it and keep it trimmed.

Now I really wish I didn't take those free zoas, or the psychotropic algae would be tempting. Ha!
