My Gsp is all closed up. Has been doing great for 2 months. Water is good. Everyone else is as happy as can be

Do you have a fish nipping at it?

Looks like a hermit or snail to the right. May have just walked across it and caused it to close up

That happens from time to time with mine as well. No big deal, give it time and it'll open back up

You need to keep an eye on the mat though. Closed up is one thing while a receding mat is another thing. If it is receding then you have another issue.

Mine closed for 2 days just last week. Opened again and happy ever since. I notice they do this once in awhile. Growing great

I found on mine that if you manually turn blades it starts working again, or go max gyre in manual mode. Does the controller show power?

Upon closer inspection I found these little jerks crawling on it. Any help would be appreciated

Just wait and see if it opens. I have some small bristle worms that crawl through my gsp.

The coral looks like there is cyano growing over it, and those little buggers are some kind of pod, probably eating the scum off the coral.
What are your parameters?
I'd try a small water change using a siphon to remove the red scum off the coral in the process. Chemiclean is an easy fix for cyano, but long term you will need to work on cleaning up the tank imo.

Thanks for the input but I have been up to date of h2o changes and parameters are in check, algae/cyano is dissipating everyday

Oh, that is different. Glad the cyano is on the way out. It could be that your water is getting too clean at the gsp is angry! They do like dirtier water.
If it was mine I would use a stream of water (pump or baster) to blow the mat clean. The coral is probably ok, just doesn't look very happy at the moment.

Yes I would try to turkey bast that stuff off. Definitely some kind of pod. Could be just walking though but I generally don’t like seeing them there because they eat decaying stuff so hope the gap is not decaying because of the algae on it. I just went through something similar with my zoas. Bug is not the problem much more inclined the stuff algae on it is more of the problem

As an owner of 4 gyre pumps there is one very critical element to longevity. I have had to replace 2 motors and I'm pretty sure it was my fault. They both started giving me problems with in a day or 2 after cleaning. When you reassemble the pumps it is very critical to make sure the cages are free and not bound. I have had to use scotch brite to clean the motor bores and use vasoline on the O-rings. If those cages don't wobble freely it will cause a bind and stress the motor.

Not sure if this was your cause but it's something to think about when cleaning them.
