Came in on Zoa frag

I received an order today, with a Citron Goby and a Midas Blenny, a pink birds nest and a random zoa frag that they threw in. ( yellow watchman I received was DOA )

when I opened the frag bag to start acclimating, this black ball was wedged between two polyps. If came off easy. It couldn’t be one of the zoa, it was much larger, black. I’m attaching a picture of it and of a stray zoa that broke off the rock.

Does anyone know what it is? Should I keep it or toss it? I’ve been in and out of the hobby and have just never seen this before.

Not sure but it could be a black sponge, which this Reef2Reefer wants to get rid of, there is a pic where it is also in Zoas.. I would try to remove as much as possible..

If it's not a sponge of some sort it might be a Sea Squirt/Tunicate.

I was wondering if it was a sponge, or some weird polyp of some kind.I don’t think it was attached very well, the whole thing came off with just a slight nudge. I don’t see any remnants or anything else.

Thanks for the help. Just to be on the side of caution, it’s going to make the trip back to the sea along the same route with the DOA Goby.
