So I won a 45 gallon Reef Savvy cube at the Reef2Reef both at MACNA. I wanted to say that I am more than grateful for Reef2Reef donating the tank :D

So it's a 24" L x 24" W x 18" H rimless tank with 1/2 thick glass. I am planning on making this an SPS dominated bare bottom tank. My equipment list will be as follows:

Reef Breeders Value LED Fixture

Cadlights PLS-100 Skimmer

Jebao wp25 Powerhead

Sicce Syncra 1.5 Return Pump

10 gallon DIY Sump

I will probably end up getting an ATO of some sort as well.

I already have my scape set up. I'll post pictures when I can.

I was either thinking a school of five Yellowstriped Cardinals and a mated pair of Neon Gobies or a school of three Cardinals, a mated pair of Neon Gobies, and a Purple Dottyback.

I'm always open to new ideas as well. Let me know if you have any other ideas. :)

Congrats on winning the tank! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

So I ordered my wp25. It should be here in the next few weeks.

Here are some pics of the tank and stand.

I just ordered a Sicce Syncra 1.5 and bought my plumbing. I'm also picking up some glass for the baffles for my 10 gallon sump tomorrow. I'll get pics when I have it all set up.

I got the pump in the mail and siliconed the baffles for my sump. I found a guy that lives near me that has an AI Sol Blue for a good price, so I'm trying to make a bit of money to get that. Not much else, though.

I think I'm going to order a Reef Radiance dm-155e tomorrow. Does anyone have personal experience with that particular fixture?

My day consisted of nothing but putting plumbing together, fixing leaks, adjusting the overflow and return about a hundred times, cutting plumbing, replacing pieces of plumbing that I cut too short, gluing, screwing pieces together with teflon tape, and just trying not to have a break down

I'm starting to think that my return pump is running a bit faster than my overflow is bringing water down to the sump, but I may just be going crazy. We'll see

I'm leak testing now.

So I realized that the pump was filling the tank with water faster than the overflow could bring it back. I ended up taking the stockman portion of my overflow off and everything seems to be fine. I prefer noise than a tank overflow any day :)

Not much of an update. My light should be here in about 2 weeks. I've heard some great reviews, so I'm excited to try it out myself.

Not much of an update. No leaks so far (fingers crossed)

I also came up with a new scape. Let me know what you think.
