My reefer 250 It’s been established for the last two years, some minor adjustments with the dosing but overall pretty solid parameters with the help of the trident but since last week my calcium keeps normally at 440 ppm and without notice jumped to 560ppm, As an emergency reaction stopped immediately the calcium dosing And started testing with my salifert for back up and in fact everything else was good except the calcium, it was over 500ppm, The most important for me is the Alk and that one is been rocksolid at 8.3DKH Checked by the trident, Salifert and Hannah checker, Performed two water changes and calcium dropped to around 540ppm based on my trident, on my Salifert was higher than 500ppm cause used the whole reagent on the test(It shows Max 500ppm) The Trident reagents was changed for a new set and calibrated so it’s on point. Already have a nice colonies started to bleaching and my rainbow acans are closed, First time in at least two years Acan get closed so tight,
parameters as today May 20/20
Alk 8.3Dkh
Ca 577ppm
Mag 1400
Salinity 1,026
Temp 78
Ph 8.30
Nítrate 10
Phosphate 0.05

560 ppm (if accurate) is not an emergency. it isn't even a problem, IMO.

Calcium cannot jump for 440 ppm to 560 ppm without a lot of dosing. DId you dose too much?

I would just let it decline a bit on its own. No need for water changes or any other treatment.

Thank you Boss, apparently was a problem of a Accuracy of the trident, i’ve been checking parameters with my standby test kits but the weird thing is I a have lots of acros and calcium don’t show to drop anything I stopped the dosing of Kalk and calcium from ESV a week ago... any idea why calcium parked that high and it’s not dropping???? Thanks again
