can a chocolate starfish live in the refugium?

starting up a 200g tank and I am planning on going FOWLR for 6 to 8 months so if the tank is stable I wanted to add a Choc chip start fish to the dt, then when the corals move in move it to the refugium, I will have chaeto bio media and other Cuc crew in there
 
Mine did not make it in the refugium past about a year. I think it liked my mushrooms too much. When they ran out, it died. :)

Edit: Of course, if you feed it, it can probably survive longer.

Thanks for the input, the star fish is a request of my daughter, who is 9, I showed her at a LFS how they will move to the top of the tank to get food, so I was planning on target feeding it. and it would have a home in the DT until the corals start moving in.
 
That is great. My kids liked it too. Letting her feed would be cool too. Good idea. :)
