Can a dead puffer nuke a tank?

Hi i have a porcupine puffer in qt thats doing fine. Somone told me that i should not put in my DT because if it dies it can nuke and kill all my other fish. Does that make sense?
 
This guy told me he has a dead dogface nuke his tank
 
Maybe the fish was big enough to cause an ammonia spike, which in turn can "nuke" a tank
Its possible , he did not give me all the facts about water quality or how long the fish was sitting dead in the water.
 
So you just take advice based on he said/ she said as fact? Do some actual research.
Thanks for ur advice but the fact that i posted on here before i gave up on keeping a puffer shows that i am trying to do research.
 
As mentioned above unless it died and produced ammonia as a rotting corpse then it wouldn't nuke a tank. A Cowfish/Boxfish can but not a Puffer.

The internet is your friend that has other sources of information available. A fish forum is full of "I heard" and is not considered a credible source.

Sorry, but anytime i even contemplate getting any livestock I fully research so I don't have to ask questions after the fact. Common sense.
