Can a pistol shrimp dig itself out?

While tryig to get a small Blue Tang into QT, I ended up having to move a Live Rock, and i am worried that I might have intombed my pistol shrimp.

Doea anyone know if they can dig themselfs out or if they need am existing tunnel to move around?
