Can a powerful fuge light throw off a ph probe?

I did a few minutes of research and couldn’t find anything. So I placed my ph probe in my fuge for a while so I could move some stuff around. I noticed on apex that the ph moved up a few points from 8.35 to 8.39 . I’m using the kessil h380 and as soon as I returned it to the original spot not effected by lighting it dropped back down to 8.35. The system is moving water pretty quickly so I don’t believe it to be a co2 issue in fuge. Any feedback?

Interesting. I suppose it could be a point or 2 higher in the fuge while the powerful light is on and macro is growing? This would only be from c02 yes. Depending on flow through it. All speculation from me on this one.

I guess i could put some pvc around the probe in fuge to see if the lighting itself is throwing it off or it’s actually a different ph in fuge. Do a couple of experiments

Couldn't hurt to try that. I dont believe I've ever heard of a light messing up probes. Unless algae is growing on it.

It would have to be some secondary effect, the light won't do anything to the probe itself.
