been working on it. The GHA has gotten really weak, and can be blown off with a baster even. I cannot remove my rocks, so the final step of ridding myself of them has been going slowly. Thanks for the tips.

I'm happy to share my experience. I had GHA take over my Evo. Every week, sometimes multiple times per week, i would be picking and scribbing the rocks, pulling up mats of GHA from the sand and scraping the back wall. I did 3 things: 1) replaced 2 of the GHA covered "LifeRocks" with 3 rocks straight from the gulf and 1/3rd sand with gulf sand (TBS). 2) Added a bunch of variety snails (10x periwinkles, 10x dwarf ceriths, 5x FL ceriths, 2x African ceriths, 2x Cortez ceriths, 4x nerites, 2x ox tongue nerites, 4x Astraeas, 1x money cowrie, 2x limpets [useless, just sat above the water line and died]... This on top of my existing dwarf ceriths, 5x trochus and conch). 3) Switched from mostly pellet food with occasional frozen to mostly liquid egg-based and mysis food (RuSalty) with occasional pellet.

GHA never touched the gulf rocks. Over a month, the GHA receded with minimal intervention from my part. No bacteria dosing, no H2O2, only an occasional pick and scrub on the dead rocks.

I can't attribute the improvement to the gulf rocks/sand, but I'd imagine there was a combined effect largely influenced by the rocks/sand. I have a very small amount of GHA right now.
