Can anyone help me identify these small, white tube-like things? I started noticing them about a month ago in shaded areas of my rock work. Now they are everywhere, including the skeletons of many of my LPS corals.
About a week ago, my very large elegance coral started detaching from its skeleton and I found a bunch of these things attached to the skeleton underneath. Could they have annoyed the coral enough for it to bail out? So far the fleshy tentacles are still extending and colorful, but I fear it’s only a matter of time before it detaches completely and dies.
Any insight is appreciated!

Pinneaple sponges. Harmless little filter feeders that I would be are in the vast majority of reef tanks.

If you are talking about on the Skelton of the coral, those are pineapple sponges. Harmless filter feeders. They can annoy corals by touching them, but do not sting or anything.
