Vermetid snails. They send out webby, stringy stuff to feed. Can irritate corals, but not an issue with fish or other inverts. Most coral keepers will destroy on sight if possible.

Yes that can be done. Limiting the free floating particulate food helps keep these guys under control. They "love" coral foods
