Can anyone ID these possible eggs?

Hi everyone. I went to clean out my gyre and I found these clusters on the inside of the holder. Can anyone ID this?

Resembles a whelk egg case to me but not sure. @KJ @Lovemyreef2015 @Bob Loblaw

It does look like some type of whelk eggs. What types of snails do you have in your tank?

The only snails I have put in there are common ones like turbos, astrea, and trochus. I do put some wild pieces in there but always dip...but that’s not guaranteed to kill everything obviously.

Are whelks a predator of any type of coral?

They are predatory to other snails, clams, etc. Not good to have in the tank. Whelk are sold as nassarius by mistake sometimes.
