Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard you can't mix Australian and Indonesian acans. I'd like to fill this rock with acans but I'd like to confirm they're compatible.

The LFS told me this is an Aussie acan, but I'd like to confirm with all you knowledge folks. Is there any way to tell them apart when I eventually head back to pick up a few more varieties? Thanks!

Micromussa lordhowensis will coexist with other lordhowensis no matter the region just fine. Unless your LFS can confirm he got the shipment from australia then I'd take there statement with a grain of salt.

Yep -- aussie for sure. for 1, indo doesn't really have all that many acans; for 2, indo has been banned for a while now, and unless your LFS likes to hoard stuff (like I do :) ), they wouldn't have access to Indo corals.

Also the patterns are very typical of a Aussie acan.

But as DSC reef said, they can co-exist just fine.
