Someone in the area had this for there 75 gallon and is selling it to me. This is my first time adding a sump, so I’m out of my depth here. I plan to add it to my 55 with a 20 gallon sump. TIA

How much are they asking for it? If running an external overflow box style overflow, I prefer the traditional u-tube style overflow as it doesn’t rely on an aqualifter pump to maintain the siphon like the CPR style boxes do. Here is a traditional u-tube style overflow that would work well for your needs...

Ideally though, if you can, I’d recommend drilling your tank, and installing a low profile ghost overflow set up with beananimal style plumbing for redundancy.

$40- I’m really against drilling my tank lol. If something goes wrong, I don’t have a back up nor do I have home insurance at the moment

Water Dog pretty much covered everything, and I agree if you can drill, do so. I didn't drill my tank because I wasn't 100% sure the back glass wasn't tempered so I opted for an HOB overflow. I have the tube style overflow and in the 3 years the tank has been running I haven't experienced a single problem. These type of overflows get a bad rap because of noise (easy fix) and the chance of flooding if not set up correctly.
