Def sponges. Asked this same question with almost the exact same pics a few months ago on here. I had tons of them but they have slimmed down a lot. Only a few spots left. Def safe

Sponges filter your water - and they can filter a lot! I've been told that a one-gallon sized sponge can process the volume of an olympic swimming pool daily.

Don't go looking for cube-shaped trousers for 'em, though . . .
