This stuff covered my entire back wall and spread to a few rocks. the tank is only a couple of months old. no idea what this stuff is.

Some kind of bacteria. What water, rock, sand, did you start your tank with??

Water was ro/di. Rock was reefsavers. Sand was 2 types of bagged "live" sand. How do I get rid of the bacteria?

I did have to tear the tank down after it was up for a month due to my basement flooding. So the sand was then put in buckets.

It should clear up, when it consumes the gunk thats keeping it alive. I'd wipe it down, keep it from growing, it should go away on in due time.
