I have a 55 g fowlr tank. It has 2 clownfish and 4 mollies. This tank has been running for almost a year. The reason for my post is that there is something growing on my rocks. I'm thinking it may be an algae of some sort. Can anyone help to id this? Couldn't upload my video so I have one pic. I can get a few more if needed.

Can't tell from this particular pic, but could be bacteria or dead algae based on it being translucent.

Do u have any snails? The rocks look a bit grungy. What have you got for circulation? Do u blow them off with a turkey baster?

Yea. Just a mulm or sponge. Comes and goes. How's your snail crew.
Did you add the rock on the left recently?

No snails, just a few hermit crabs. Time to go shopping for more of a cleanup crew.

Rock has been in the tank for about 6 months. I did just add the sand about 3 weeks ago. Rinsed it multiple times until the water was clear before adding it. Still made one heck of a dust storm though.

I have the same in my rocks... and I'm willing to learn what's going on, thank you guys!!!
