I am calling in the #reefsquad on this one to get you a better response

Thanks I'll try to get better pictures but he super elusive

That could be uronema or a bacterial infection. Can you give some background on him? How long have you had him? How long has he had this red mark? Was he QT'd? Can you QT if need be?

I had him for a month or so today is the first time I seen the red mark he was swimming fine earlier today I didn't notice anything then I came down later he was on the sand heavy breathing and I noticed it he was not qt and I do not have a qt tank s t up

I'm willing to bet that is a bacterial infection. There is usually an underlying reason for these infections that allow them to take hold. You would do well to set up a QT and treat with a wide spectrum antibiotic like kanaplex or Furan 2. You can actually combine both of those at the same time to widen the spectrum even more.

Are this medications reef friendly or they have to be done in qt

They must be done in a QT to be effective quick enough to make a difference. You can feed them in the food when combined with Focus, but it's slower acting and this isn't something that you want to take your time treating.

Will this affect my other fish as well or just in this fish

I do have a 8 gal nuvo set up it is currently empt of fish it has live rock and sand in it though could I use that as the treatment tank

Just went back down anthia was upside down and the cleaner shrimp was picking and made a wound he didn't make it :/

I'm sorry for the loss. Bacteria can spread to other fish but it depends on the type of bacteria, the reason it was able to take hold and the individual immune systems of the other fish. It moved quickly so it was probably a gram negative bacteria. They are difficult to diagnose and treat quickly enough. They often kill faster than velvet. I would just watch your other fish for signs and be ready to move and treat if needed. Having antibiotics on hand is a great way to be prepared. Kanaplex and/or Furan2 are good ones.

I agree with Mel and now that I've kept reading I'm also very sorry for your loss. That fish didn't look too well :(

Thanks . So how long would a bacteria like that survive in the tank for if my other fish do not show signs when could I add other fish to the tabk
