Can anyone identify this on my live rock?

Hello, new to the hobby and set up a 60g with live rock. Things are going well but I need help identifying something on one piece of my live rock. It looks almost like moss that has had the color bleached from it. It is not spreading or acting as if it is alive. Is this something I need to remove or is it harmless? Thanks

Looks like a sponge to me - sponges are generally (with a few very rare exceptions) harmless filter feeders. As long as it doesn’t actively smother any corals in your tank, it’s harmless/beneficial. (And I do mean smother; some sponge species will grow right up a coral’s base/stalk/whatever and then stop at the coral’s flesh without harming the coral at all).

Awesome. Thanks for the insight. I didn't even think it could be a sponge. I will keep an eye on it and make sure it stays in it's location.

Got it from my local saltwater shop. They had quite a bit that was cured. No other pests so far so feeling good about that.
