I returned to the beach today to see if he washed up overnight. Sadly, he did. I tried.
Is it still alive? Is there a local aquarium by you that may take it in and try to save it?

Yep, that’s a common shark, the Dogfish, and as a fisherman, just a nuisance while fishing in my waters around Long Island, N Y. They reproduce serveral times per year. Today’s recreational limit is 6, and they aren’t very good table fare, most sharks aren’t. But there’s NO bones in sharks, and after removal of fins, head, and guts, it’s all meat, and no waste. Makos, Threshers, and Porbeagle sharks are the best to eat. Most sharks urinate through their skin, and don’t taste very good. These sharks are usually released. But.........Arthur Treachers has used your shark for years, and they soak the meat in milk to remove the ammonia for their fish n chips. So if you need to get even........Eat Shark, their delicious!!! And thin the ocean of a real man-eater! This Rogue, that’s what they call very big sharks, swam by our boat trying to eat a 150 Lb Yellowfin Tuna I just gaffed. These excellent fishermen caught it later!
