This came up on the side of a frag. It's soft.
Can anyone identify?

I would guess a sponge or algae. Algae probably. Type not sure.

Is it flat?
Its a kinda expensive plating macro algae I believe. Blue scroll algae. Its brown but may color up for you. I couldnt get them to grow in my tank, started blueStayed brown. died

Go figure. You want something to grow and it won't. You buy something else and it comes along as a hitchhiker. It is pretty, though! Hope it turns blue! And, yes, it's flat so far...
