I just started 4 months ago. I have 2 fish as of now in a 120g tank. Since Sunday I've seen more and more algea growing (not sure what it is) and I took a sample. Here's is a pic of what i put under the microscope. Can someone tell what this is and what I should be doing? This is the first time using a microscope and taking a sample so hopefully it is right. I wouldn't mind some pointers also if you're willing to share. Thanks for the help!

The specimens looked crushed, making ID difficult. I would guess the organism is a diatom.

Thanks, I'm going to try and take new pictures. It make scenes with what you said about being crushed.

I can't seem to get any microscope pics good enough. I tried 40/0.65 on the microscope and WF-10X on the eye piece. It didn't show anything. Hopefully you can see what I'm dealing with in the pics here I attached. Thank you for your help!
