It looks like a cowrie snail. They would have a mantle that they can protrude over their shell. Keeps the shell nice and shiny. I could not tell you which one. They come in beneficial as the money ring cowrie, though there are others that are not desirable. Do you have a shot onto the shell?

I hope it isn't a bad pest. That thing is gnarly looking.

We have a tiger cowrie at work. He makes big tracks in the sand.

i agree with @ChiCity looks like a golden cowrie but if you want a 100% id then i’d like try and touch the shell or blast it with a turkey baster to have it close it’s mantle so you can get a picture of the shell

Havent seen these in years !! Often used for jewelry in the pacific, can reach 4" in size.

From the initial two photos, I would guess it is either a Tiger Cowrie (Cypraea tigris) or a Panther Cowrie (Cypraea pantherina). Judging by the slots in the weir, it looks to be very small so it could have sub adult coloring yet. Can you pull it out and put it in a cup of water to get pictures with and without the mantle extended?

Just at work but when I get home I'll definitely post some more pictures, appreciate the help guys
