Can anyone help me identify what this black slime is? I've added chemi-clean, already had a bit of cyano to get rid of. It doesn't look like cyano and no matter how much I google or how I word it, it doesn't show any results that match.

It looks like cyano boardering dinos . I would dose a competing bacteria like microbactor 7 . If you have a UV light run it . Bring up your nutrients , your phosphates should be between 0.05 and .01 and nitrates between 10-15ppm . What are your parameters?

Phosphates are at .02(just dosed neo-phos today, were 0)
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Mag 1280
Cal 490
Alk 8.9
Sal 1.026
Temp 77.8

I'll get the UV up and running. I dosed Microbacter-7 with the Neo-Phos.

Tank is established. Coralline, stable parameters, all coral and fish are happy. Just can't beat this black disaster.

Do they go away at lights out? If so, could be dinoflagellates. You’re probably gonna have to get a microscope to identify which type in order to treat.

I checked about an hour after lights out and no change. Gonna check again before lights come on. Set up the UV sterilizer also.

The zero phosphates is imo is what caused it . Cut back light intensity , manual removal, aeration, more water flow and keeping up with maintenance while watching your parameters. It may take a week to a month to rid this . Slow and steady will get you out of this . Also keep up the adding of competing good bacteria

Definitely working on it. Happy enough the fish and coral seem unbothered by it. Just gonna chug along
