Its less likely to cause issues than GFO/lanthanum/etc, but yes, of course it can.

Nutrients/food availability/etc is a complicated subject - and there are a lot of factors - the amount you feed, flow, export, etc - and test results are really just poor proxies for food availability. So, its complicated.

Turf scrubbers are tuneable though - if you run into issues - just shorten the photoperiod.

so far i dont have an issue,
just on test kit before ATS running no3 at 3-8ppm , po4 at 0.25
after two months ATS running, no3 never above 1 , po4 0.03 - 0.05 max on hanna checker.
i feed fish 4 times a day . ATS running for 9 hours, skimmer 6 hours.

The actual growth / export of algae is just one part of the equation. Algae also release photosynthetic sugars which form a relationship with bacterial growth and is therefore naturally carbon dosing. You don’t want to go over the top, when growing algae.

sorry for late reply and thanks for the insight.
i just knew it that algae release photosynthetic sugars that bacteria use as a carbon.
i think thats why no3 keep low.
from time to time, my no3 keep going down .
i stay at 4 times a day feeding fish, same amount. clean the ATS once a week.
po4 stable at 0.01 - 0.03 , no3 keep drop slowly from 1 -> 0.5 -> 0.2 now.

but i dont see any negative effect at my LPS corals, they just stay the same , the only different i notice is the color.
The color looks better ..

i think they got sufficient nutrient input, and the ATS balance the output.

that's why the nutrient reading is low , just my thought
