Can Clowns and Chromis be kept together?

Hello everyone! I was wondering if I could keep Ocellaris Clownfish and Green Chromis together? I have read a lot of articles online but they all seem to be split on the answer to this question.

I have a pair of clowns, 2 different chromis, and two different type of blue damsels and all is well but its a 180g tank. If tank size permits they should do fine. When I had green chromis groups they never bothered anyone but each other. Tried 7 twice and ended up with one both times.

They should be okay in that size together.
Biggest issue is chromis fighting with each other as noted (and potential uronema).

Ok, thanks! How many would you recommend. My LFS has a tank with probably 13 or so in it. Is it better to keep an odd number like it is with freshwater or does that matter?

I have 2 (started with 7) chromis with 2 oscellaris, no problems at all. My misbar is the peacekeeper with everyone in the tank.

Depends - you don’t want to overstock the tank but the larger the school the better. Think tiger barbs or exodon tetras - over 10 is the best chance, but I wouldn’t put that many chromis in a 55. Try 5-7 (I haven’t had chromis personally so others could comment better there).
