I got a very small clown goby for my biocube a few weeks ago. I noticed he liked to sit in my frogspawn and Xenia. Then he totally vanished. I checked the back of the tank and everywhere I was able to look. Is it possible for the frogspawn to sting the fish and kill it? Just can't figure out what happened to the little guy!

More than likely your frogspawn took him out. Frogspawn are very aggressive I've fed them large meaty food and even lost a pair of black and blue sea slugs to mine.

Theoretically yes. I would think that the fish would have to have had a previous issue for that to have happened though.

I have seen an elegance coral roughly a 6" skeleton so 9" open or so kill a clown that tried to host it then ate it. No lie.

I have a citron clown goby it rests in my frogspawn as well has my elegance and it has never even been stung. Or at least the sting was not strong enough to hamper it from resting there. I have several fish that swim through the frogspawns and torch tentacles and they never give a second glance.

A large hungry elegance has a stronger sting than frogspawn so if a fish is sick or weak than maybe. But even a small clown goby would be a bit too big for a frogspawn to ingest.

Ive only had experience with a coral eating a freshly dead fish. My large wellso devoured a dead fully grown Bartlett Anthias.

Mine sits in frogspawn all the time without issue

Yes corals can eat your fishie. I woke up and 1 of my baby clown disappeared, I searched around my whole tiny tank, no sign of it. I then looked at my lps, and this is what I saw.

Dendros would not be my first suspect! But then again, being an NPS they probably should be!
