so I went over to my buddies house to take care of his tank I fed reef roids to his corals a bit over the measured amount I made it thick so that it blobs on each one. In the morning I noticed the tanks PH on the apex was a lower than usual that day it normally drops to 8.0 at night and his dropped to 7.87 that night. Could that be related to feeding corals?? Could nitrates get build that fast and lower PH or was that just a random event

Most likely a random event. pH fluctuates pretty often throughout the day, but unless there's some kind of strange buffer added within the food, food shouldn't alter pH at all.
