I have recently changed my setup for Phosban to a reactor from a bag. In doing so, I have increased the flow rate through the resin. Within 2 days of this my Chevron and Purple Tangs have developed spots on their sides, none on their fins. They were recovering from HLLE from being in QT and were 90% better. Any chance that this is HLLE worsening from resin fines and not ich? The Powder Blue Tang looks perfectly fine and never had HLLE, which is making me wonder. I'm about to put everyone back in QT again if not. Thanks much!

Unable to get a decent pic. Looked like small white spots on his slime coat this morning and have rapidly increased in size. Only the two tangs who were recovering from HLLE are showing any symptoms...

Can you get some pics?

They came out really crappy, but I'll put 'em up. Chevron has worsened significantly through the day.

Was almost all better, too... only had HLLE on his cheeks and just above his eyes, was actually a very pretty fish again... dang I hate it. He must be miserable!

Purple's spots won't show up on pics, as they are MUCH less severe...

Got a slightly better pic. See the spot at the base of the tail? Didn't look like that with ich when Powder Blue got it. The affected areas are far bigger

Just blew up the aquascape and threw everyone back in QT. RRR baths for Purple and Chevron Tangs. Off to another 76 days of water changes. Perhaps I will have learned my lesson about being a QT ****. For the record, a freshwater dip and RRR is not enough to ensure that a PERFECTLY healthy looking super fat green mandarin will not nuke your tank.

On the bright side, I get to rescape and address some of the lighting challenges that I was encountering with a few SPS frags.

Sorry man i hope it gets better.

Me too. Really would like these guys to just be healthy. They were doing really well. Fortunately we are neck deep in qt tanks and equipment. The 75 is a BUSY tank right now... When they get out of copper I may well split them up
