Our tank has been up for a month and have been monitoring the parameters daily. It was set up using 20lbs live rock, 20 lbs dry, Live sand, and made the mistake to get water from a LFS who gave it to us out of their reef tank. After checking phosphates for the past two weeks I finally got them down.

pH 8.0
Ammonia 0.0
Nitrite 0.0
Nitrate 0.0
Phosphates 0.13
Calcium 446
Alk 10.2

We have been running with our lights off to not blow the tank up with algae but our light comes Thursday and I want to get things rolling. Would I be safe adding an anenome to the tank? Still pumping the breaks on SPS and LPS for a few months but would like some movement in the tank other than the Clowns, and puffer.

What type would be the best for hosting two Carmel clowns?

I'm with @Dbichler nems thrive in established tanks. You're actually better off getting some hardy, flowing corals like Xenia, GSP, Leathers/Toadstools, etc if you want to add more movement.

You are going to get some that say yes and probably more of us that say it is better to wait. Newer tanks tend to go through stages of maturation that anemones dont tolerate well. As mentioned above. The puffer may not tolerate it being there anyway.

I understand where you are coming from with this. I personally would like to add the nem first so it can find its happy place with out us having to worry about it walking over or near the corals.

Is the tank mature enough? No its not and I am not trying to say it is.

And as far as the puffer it is a sharp nose blue spotted puffer.
