my tank is at 8ph 0ppm ammonia and 0.25 of nitrite and 5ppm of nitrate is it safe to add my fish

not able to tell from the info provided. one set of readings cannot tell, but a repeated set of digestion tests where you input ammonia to 3 ppm and then it goes to zero in 24 hours is the only way to tell. the nitrite portion of the info isn't needed at all, so we must know your actual repeated ammonia digestion abilities to know. this thread describes the exact time you can start a reef safely

if you are using live rock, then the thread shows its probably ready. if it was bone white group A rocks, only that digestion test can answer the question.

I would wait till nitrite is down to 0. Ammonia and nitrite both 0 and a nitrate reading is normal. Is nitrite on the way down or is it on the rise? If it's on the way down then it should only be a few more days. If ur using api test kit wait till the nitrite test color is blue. At .25 it's still a little purple. When it hits 0 there's a definite blue. Shouldn't be long!!!

its on the way down thankfully I had a bottle of seachem stability and prime on hand form set up is it wise to change the water at this point as well I will have it checked for salinity as well it should be good though is there any thing that I need that I should get right now as tommrow I am going to check in on my fish and get anything I need to make this tank work

This...Are you continually adding a source of ammonia for the bacteria. If you just dosed it when you first started it, then waited for the levels to peak and come down, they bacteria are starving and dying. You have to feed them a steady diet so that they reach a level of equilibrium, where they are constantly consuming (within 24 hours) the amount of food you are adding.

I have six blue leg hermit crabs and a pistol shrimp in there that I feed daily

I'd get some snails then again I don't know what size tank you have. Also look into getting a refractometer so that you can check your salinity before adding anything to the tank as well before you add new water to your tank so that you aren't dropping or raising your levels.
