Ok so planning a new build (down the road 100 gal+). I saw a user on here who has this awesome display refugium and I’ve been obsessed since. On my current take I also have annoying algae issues and have thought about A scrubber. So could I add an algae scrubber to the sump for main algae control (basically replacing a chaeto ball) and then have a small display fuge with rare macro algae?

I assume it just comes down to nutrient levels but thought I’d ask.

Yup if you have the nutrients to support it then I don't see why not.

The thing to think about is a refugium with macro and an ATS are both used to handle nuisance algae by our competing them for the nutrients in your tank. I would think that having both a ‘fuge And an ATS running at the same time would cause one or the other to fail unless you have crazy nutrient levels.

just my 2 cents. Curious to see what others Say
