Can I do my hospital tank backwards?

I just started adding coral and fish approx 3 weeks ago. I added 2 clowns 2 weeks ago and a yellow tang yesterday. I didn't quarantine at home because I watched the tang at my lfs for the last month and it seemed healthy. (Last time i do that) Today, my tang has been rubbing up against rocks and sand. No other signs, but I am preparing to treat for ich. I am buying all that I need for a hospital tank, but I was wondering... I only have 3 coral frags. It seems easier to move the coral to the hospital tank along with a single ai prime HD and leave my fish in the cycled tank for treatment. Is there a way I could do that? I just hesitate to put 3 fish in a small non cycled tank.

What size tank? A filter sponge and biospira will help setup a bio filter almost instantly

There isn't any way to reliably treat for ich in your display tank without leaving residual medication. The residual medication will kill the corals and inverts when you put them back in.
