I have been having issues with magnesium. I dose a lot and it stays low. I had a LFS test my waters they agreed that magnesium levels were low. They told me to do more water changes. But small and slow. Because my nitrates are pretty low also. So I have my tank set up so I am able to do water changes pretty quickly. I am able to release 30 gallons in just a few minutes. And replace it just as quickly

Can I do water changes to quickly?

Sure you can in respect to nutrient levels in your chemistry which will drop if waters changed “too fast”.
Just dose your MG upwards into whatever range you like between 1320-1440ppm.

If you want to run say 5ppm nitrate and your testing 10ppm, here, a water change may be in order although 10ppm is fine as well.

If you test and your 5ppm, why change water, just adjust the components that are not in range.

Use water changes to keep nutrients availability and stable.

If done properly water changes aren't a problem. If your objective is to raise your mag I would just dose that to get to the level you want. Especially with lower nitrates.

I’m doing 700ml a day. With doing that I go through a gallon very quickly

How big is your system and what salt are you using. Reef crystals mixes up high in mag if you want to go that route.

I went through almost 3 gallons of magnesium. Dosing 700ml a day before I decided to just stop recalibrate and have LFS also test. It’s a total of 300 gallon tank and sump. LFS agreed magnesium is low
