Hi! I’m looking forward to blue Friday and am hoping to pull the trigger on my first reef tank. We just remodeled the kitchen and dining room and I need to understand if I can fit a 130.4 or if I am smarter going with a 100.3. The attached photo shows the footprint of the 130.4. It would be 5” off the new cabinet and 2” off the door. I would put a piston on the door so it cannot open more than 90 degrees and hit the tank. Is 5” enough room from the cabinet?

Welcome to Reef2Reef! My tank sits about 2” from the wall and I wish I would have gone closer to 5” so I could use a magnetic scraper on the back.

I’m not concerned about the back. I’m concerned about the right side next to the cabinet. I know I need a vortech pump on the side.

Looks like it will fit! May have to put a stopper on that door if it opens that wide.
Yes I will definitely put something on the door. But how much room do I need on the side by the cabinet? I know I need a pump there. Also, I would prefer to not have a pump on the left side because that is what you see when you walk in the front door. I know peninsula tanks have 3 sides clear. I’m hoping I can keep the front and left side clear.

Go as big as possible the first time! Are there going to be deals on tanks tomorrow?!?
