Had some hair algae popping up, and wanted to get an emerald crab, as my other tank has an emerald crab that does pretty good on algae.
asked my wife to pick one up from the Fish Store, was hoping for (and asked for) a large male. . . I know they can be aggressive, but look so cool!!! Anyway, my wife got a red female (I tend to call them red mithrax crabs not emeralds, but maybe that’s just me. . .
anyway, the crab is fine, and does eat some algae, but I still want a big green male.
Can I take the female out of my 15 gallon tank, put her with the other female in my 7 gallon tank and buy a big green male for the 15 gallon? How terrible of an idea is this?
15 gallon is a reef tank (total volume is 20 gallons if including filtration) with 2 clowns, 1 bicolor blenny, 1 coral banded shrimp, 6 blue hermits, 3 astrea snails.
7 gallon has no fish
